News - Governor appoints two judges to Sacramento Superior Court - sacbee.com: "Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who made the appointments, had recently named Earl, a Democrat, as a state senior assistant inspector general empowered to investigate California's prison system.

Perkins, a Republican, who has been a lawyer for the past 31 years, is a member of Wilke, Fleury, Hoffelt, Gould & Birney. The firm is one of the oldest partnerships in Sacramento, having started in 1922.

Perkins, a graduate of King Hall, School of Law at the University of California, Davis, began is career as a clerk for U.S. District Court Judge Marshall A. Neill in Washington state.

Before being appointed to the inspector general post, Earl was a Sacramento County deputy district attorney for nine years. Earl, of Sacramento, was a public defender in Sacramento from 1989 to 1995 and earned her law degree from Lincoln Law School."
